Transport in Northeast India

Fly into Guwahati — it's the Northeast hub with flights from all major Indian cities. From Guwahati, hire a private cab (SUV recommended for mountain roads) or take shared cabs/buses. For Arunachal Pradesh, helicopters serve remote valleys like Mechuka and Ziro.

Best Time to Visit

October–November: Post-monsoon clarity. Rivers clear (Dawki), roads open, skies blue. Best overall season.

March–May: Rhododendrons bloom in Sikkim and Arunachal. Best for flower lovers.

June–September: Heavy monsoon. Roads often blocked by landslides. Avoid for mountain areas. Kaziranga partially flooded (actually good for rhino counting).
